Why you know you CAN recover
Aug 28, 2023I always talk about "trusting your recovery" and creating evidence to help your brain believe it's happening. I believe this mindset shift is one of the most powerful changes you can make in your recovery from CFS.
But how do you believe in something that you have no evidence of?
Its very hard to have full conviction in something if the evidence actually suggests otherwise.
And in the early stages of your healing journey its likely you have heard horror stories of people staying stuck with CFS forever, or doctors have literally told you "nothing can be done for this"...so the evidence is not helping you believe recovery will happen for you.
And this is exactly why you should take it upon yourself to seek out evidence for recovery, which might be easier than you think.
You see, evidence is cross transferable. You don't actually need to seek evidence for CFS recovery, you just need to seek evidence for you doing something you never thought you could do.
So think back to a time when you were faced with a really challenging situation where you wern't sure you were going to come though it stronger...maybe the death of a loved one, finishing a degree, embarking on a fitness joinery, competing in a sport, getting a job, starting a business etc.
It can be anything.
Something where you weren't sure of the outcome & it took a lot of hard work to get though...but you did despite how unlikely or hard it was.
This is your evidence that you can recover form CFS.
You have proven to yourself before that you can get though really tough situations and come out of it with new strength/gratitude for life.
And more importantly in hindsight you are grateful for those situations becasue they have helped you grow achieve more than you ever thought possible.
This will be the same for CFS. I promise.
I am now beyond grateful for the fact I went through CFS...it led to so many positive changes in my life, more experiences lived in the present, more connection, more self-respect and more achievement in every other area of my life.
Keep going & don't forget you have come through "impossible" things before now.❤️
