Finding 'the perfect solution to chronic symptoms'
Sep 26, 2024A question I often get asked when people apply for coaching is "will it work for me?"
The answer is; it depends on your goals, situation & circumstance.
If you are asking "will this magically cure my symptoms?" Then answer is no. Nothing can do that sadly.
Many people experiencing chronic symptoms spend A LOT of time trying to figure out 'the perfect solution to symptoms' - looking for the method that will guarantee recovery. The longer you stay in this place, the longer you will stay stuck. Often this arises in the bargaining/denial stage of grief & is something to move through.
You need to evolve your mindset.
There is not a singular solution to chronic symptoms, if there was your doctor would have given it to you on day one & it would be freely known by all. There is only support, which can be the solution for many.
This question ('will it work for me?') is really fear of 'failure', a fear of committing to something & then it not working resulting in wasted time/energy/money.
The longer you spend in this phase, the more self fulfilling it becomes, because it is very draining & more time is spent being frozen in inaction.
Your brain is preventing you taking action, just incase you make the wrong decision...it is perfectionism. But often the worse decision is no decision.
Here is something to help...
Any health practitioner that cares about you, will tailor their support to suit your needs. They will ask about your goals, circumstance, history & individual experience before agreeing to work with you.
They will then provide you with appropriate support based off that information, if they can truly help you.
This means you cannot fail. There is no way you cannot benefit from person centred support & guidance.
The only time you might "fail" is if you go in with the expectation of being cured in few weeks / months.
You also may "fail" or not benefit if you sign up to something that claims to be a batch one size fits all method of recovery, that works for hundreds of people. You will be treated like a number. Some people benefit but many people end up worse than where they started.
The best 'methods of recovery' ... don't obsess over recovery. They support you in improving quality of life in the present, becoming more present, learning how to navigate the new normal, acceptance & building the mindset / self worth / tools to strive for a sustainable recovery if that is something you want to strive for.
They don't promise you there is a secret method for recovery, they meet you where you are & have the professional skills to support you with the aspects of your health you need support with.
All of this & more is how I support my 1-1 clients @sky_coaching_, that is how you get truly transformative results that last a lifetime.
If you would like more information about how & if coaching will be helpful for you, fill in an application form or message me - I will find out about you before I agree to support youπ«ΆπΌ
Otherwise - I truly hope this has been helpful & you can use it to break the cycle of inaction & overwhelm.
